The outdoors is at a crossroads.

Funding for public lands and conservation is disappearing, putting AMC projects at risk this year. From trail maintenance in the White Mountains to forest research in the Mid-Atlantic, work that protects the places we love may not happen.

This year, trail crews will be at their lowest levels since World War II. Restoration is stalling. Scientific monitoring may go unlaunched. And long-planned trail connections in places like the Pennsylvania Highlands are in limbo.

But we're not standing still—thanks to leaders like you.

As a President’s Society member, your commitment sustains AMC’s mission in times of challenge. When you renew your membership with a gift of $1,000 or more, you'll hire seasonal crews, deploy field researchers, and continue protecting critical landscapes.

Your 2025 President’s Society gift will:

  • Build and maintain trails from Maine to Virginia, including All Person Trails in Andover and Holyoke, MA
  • Defend clean air and water protections in state houses and in Washington, D.C.
  • Expand access to the outdoors, inspiring people of all backgrounds to explore and protect the natural world
  • Support visitor services and land management, from backcountry sites to AMC lodges and huts

AMC’s commitment is unwavering—but your leadership sustains our momentum.

Renew your President’s Society membership today with a gift of $1,000 or more to ensure a better future for the outdoors.
