COVID-19 Vaccination Policy

To provide an environment that allows Cold River Camp to operate during the pandemic while mitigating risk for all guests and staff, we have modified our operations based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), input from AMC’s medical advisor, and in response to specific guidance in the states in which we operate.
AMC requires Cold River Camp guests to be fully vaccinated or share the results of a negative PCR COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of your arrival date. Any COVID-19 vaccine approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) is an acceptable vaccine for the purposes of this policy. Fully vaccinated is defined by the CDC here. Guests aged 2-5 currently ineligible for a COVID-19 vaccine will be required to submit a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of their arrival. Guests under the age of 2 are exempt from testing requirements.
Guests who plan to participate in any volunteer-led outings, such as hikes led by our volunteer hike leaders, will be required to complete AMC’s Confidential Medical Form, which includes a field and associated attestation form to verify vaccination status. Cold River Camp is located in Chatham, N.H. off Route 113/Main Road. From NH-16 North, take the NH-25 East ramp to Center Ossipee/Portland, Maine. Continue for 5 miles, then turn left onto NH-153 North. Continue on NH-153 N for 12.5 miles, then turn right onto Stark Road. In 3 miles, turn right onto NH-113 East and follow that to the camp (approximately 24 miles). The camp itself will be on the right-hand side of the road and is marked by a large stone mill wheel, but it’s easy to drive by. Look for the sign that says AMC Cold River Camp. Be aware there is also a public campground a little farther north called Cold River Campground. This is not us. If you reach the Baldface parking lot or the National Forest Campground, you’ve gone too far north.
