Path to Leadership: How do I become an AMC leader?

In addition to being familiar with all of AMC's policies, procedures and activity leader documentation provided above, there are two steps to become an AMC leader:

Step 1: Leadership Training
Attend an in-person event hosted by your local chapter that provides instruction and practice in core leadership skills. Topics include planning and leading Activities; reviewing participants; emergency action planning and risk management; leadership and interpersonal skills; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and conservation. Explore Outdoor Leadership Trainings
Step 2: Guided Practice

Pair with a mentor at your local Chapter to co-lead at least 2 trips under supervision to demonstrate leadership skills and receive feedback. Then, have your supervising co-leader fill out the Leader in Training Co-Lead Evaluation Form.
