Camping with AMC

AMC Camps and Cabins offer ways to explore the outdoors in beautiful settings.

Our Seasonal, Full Service camps are managed by experienced volunteers and located in places like Acadia National Park and New Hampshire’s Lakes region. All offer private cabin or fixed tent accommodations and family style meals. Guests stay for a week in summer, and many families return year after year to enjoy daily activities, evening programs, and the company of other outdoors people. August Camp, a long standing AMC tradition, is located in a different location each summer, and offers daily excursions, tent camping, and group meals.

AMC also offers a variety of roadside and backcountry cabin rentals, some of which hold volunteer-led programs in summer and fall. These locations are ideal for groups looking to explore on their own and cook their own meals, or for people looking for a remote, backcountry experience.

Cold River Camp in late summer/early autumn is a great place to be, and there’s still plenty of room for you and family and friends!

Saturday August 24 through September 8 is our ‘Extension Season’. Stay for as many days as you like. Generally cooler, drier days afford more comfortable hiking and clearer views, and the busy part of the tourist season in the White Mountains has ended. Camp rates are reduced from the summer. Still the same delicious prepared dinners and breakfast, but served cafeteria style; still the same table spread for making your trail lunch. Still the same private rustic cabins, but bring your sleeping bags for the cabin beds. To make a reservation, call the Camp number, 603-694-3291. For a fuller description, see “Extension Season
