Nestled against the flank of New Hampshire's Cannon Mountain, this year-round hut offers a spectacular view of the Franconia Range across a clear glacial tarn. The westernmost hut on the Appalachian Trail, Lonesome Lake Hut is an hour's hike from the road and the perfect place for families, novice hikers and snowshoers, or anyone seeking mountain views from the water's edge.

Accommodations
- Sleeps 48 in two bunkhouses.
- Coed rooms for four to seven people.
- Fall, winter and spring self service includes access to kitchen facilities, mattresses, pillow and bathrooms. No blankets are provided (bring sleeping bag).
- Summer full service includes hearty dinner at 6 p.m. and breakfast at 7 a.m., mattress, pillow and three wool blankets on each bunk (bring linens or sleeping bag).
- Main hut building with wood stove lit at 4 p.m. during self service season.
- Resident staff available with trail information and weather reports.
- Small retail store with safety items, snacks, souvenirs.
- Informative displays and daily educational programs.

Lonesome Lake Hut is located within Franconia Notch State Park and is operated by the AMC in partnership with the state of New Hampshire.
