Center for Outdoor Learning and Leadership
Our Center for Outdoor Learning and Leadership (COLL) offers accessible and affordable outdoor skill resources, workshops, and training. Led by a team of experienced staff and volunteers, COLL engages thousands of people each year in their industry-leading offerings, from participants with advanced experiences and knowledge in the outdoors, to those just beginning their outdoor journey.
Outdoor Skills Training
Learn new outdoor skills or hone your existing expertise with an AMC training or workshop. COLL offers a range of outdoors skills instruction that covers safety and preparedness, water-based and backcountry activities, and more.
Discover how to conserve your favorite natural spaces and become an environmental steward by learning trail maintenance skills, how to advocate for conservation with elected leaders, and more.
Outdoor Leadership Training
Equip yourself to lead groups outdoors. Whether you’re interested in taking a Wilderness First Aid certification course or attending leadership training to learn or hone your outdoor leadership skills, AMC’s COLL offers comprehensive leadership courses and training to fit your needs.
Leadership Training for Youth Educators
AMC’s Educators Outdoors programming offers training and ongoing support to formal and non-formal educators like teachers, after-school/Community-Based Organizations staff, and more. With the goal of equitable access to the outdoors, we focus our support to schools and youth organizations working in lower-income communities and communities of color in the Greater Boston and Greater New York City.
